The Brain Injury Association of Tasmania is a member of the Neuro Muscular Alliance Tasmania (NMAT).

NMAT represents several non-profit organisations that support people with neuro muscular conditions. The alliance was established in October 2006 in recognition of similar issues affecting client needs across Tasmanian neurological and muscular organisations. The Alliance collectively represents approximately 2000 clients.

NMAT meets as required and has presented submissions to various government and disability reviews and new proposals and is currently developing a strategy to best represent its clients under the new national Disability Insurance Scheme.
