Brain Injury Awareness Week 2026 Launch Event

We are delighted to invite you to BIAT's Brain Injury Awareness Week 2026 Hobart Launch Event on Tuesday 18 August 2026 at the Moonah Arts Centre.

Brain Injury Awareness Week provides an opportunity to recognise the experiences of people living with brain injury, their families and carers, and to bring our community together to raise awareness of the impact of brain injury across Tasmania.

The day will feature a fantastic line up including guest speakers and presentations across the brain injury sector, an inspiring panel of lived experience speakers, networking opportunities and the unveiling of the incredible Hearts for Brain Injuries community art installation.

For those unable to attend the launch, the Hearts for Brain Injuries installation will remain open for viewing until 7:00pm on Tuesday 18 August, and again during a low sensory viewing session on Wednesday 19 August from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

The stunning installation features the 7,700 handcrafted hearts - made and donated by our incredible community -  representing the estimated number of people impacted by brain injury each year and serving as a powerful visual reminder of the diverse pathways to brain injury, while fostering awareness, inclusion and support.

Date: Tuesday 18 August 2026

Time: 10:00am arrival for a 10:30am launch. Guest speakers, presentations and activities to follow until 2:30pm.

Location: Moonah Arts Centre, 23-27 Albert Road, Moonah
